Kyrgyzstan, officially the Kyrgyz Republic (formerly known as Kirghizia) is a landlocked country located in Central Asia.

Kyrgyzstan shares borders with Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest, and China to the east.

The estimated population of the country is 6 million.

The country’s capital and largest city is Bishkek with around 940,000 residents.

The dominant religions in Kyrgyzstan are Islam and Russian Orthodox.

The countries official languages are Kyrgyz and Russian.

Thanks to the mountains, Kyrgyzstan was mostly isolated throughout its history.

However, the Soviet Union invaded the territory after World War I in 1919 and remained in charge for more than 70 years.

The country gained its independence in 1991 declaring itself as the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

After gaining independence, the country became a member of numerous unions and groups like the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation amongst others.

All forms of gambling (including online too) are illegal in Kyrgyzstan since 2011.* Therefore, all land-based and online gambling providers had to close their doors.

It was an interesting decision as the gambling industry was successful in the country and gave tax revenue to the government as well as jobs for citizens.
